The First Trees Are In The Ground!

    The Central and Coastal San Pedro Neighborhood Councils are working with
TreePeople and business and property owners along Pacific Avenue to place new
shade trees between Oliver and 23rd Streets. Here in the city where concrete and
asphalt cover our earth, trees cannot grow on their own! Volunteers are needed to
help organize this important community event, and plant and care for the trees
that will transform this street.

    There are many ways to take part in this exciting transformation:

        • Talk to your friends and post fliers around the community to recruit
           volunteers for the next planting day.
        • Help us plan and carry out this future Tree Planting Event.
        • Help unload trees from the nursery truck on the morning of the delivery.
        • Be an example to your children and neighbors. Come to the planting day
           and show them how one person can change their local environment!
        • Attend a TreePeople tree care seminar and become a member of the team
           that will ensure the long-term success of this planting.
